Do you know that your Father has endless blessings and solutions for you? They’re already available to you. Jesus says, “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” (John 14:14)
Do you know the essential keys to receiving what God has already promised?
First, you need to ask. Present your need or desire to God.
Second, you must believe that the Lord will meet your need. Jesus is very clear about the steps we are to follow: “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:24)
The “believe that you receive” step is challenging for most Christians. Sadly, doubt, misunderstandings, and lack of knowledge keep women and men of faith from the many blessings God has for them.
But you can learn to believe. You can “train yourself” to believe.
It doesn’t happen in a minute. It takes time to renew your mind and learn to trust the Lord.
That’s one powerful reason so many people grow in their faith and learn to believe when they begin the New Year with extended prayer and fasting. It’s why people receive answers to their prayers and even miracles in their lives.
Beginning at sunrise on Sunday, January 8th, join me and thousands of others as we start this New Year with extended prayer and fasting. If you want to discover how to draw nearer to God and strengthen your faith, then I hope you’ll join me as we turn from the challenges and darkness in the world to our God’s hope and light.

I hope you’ll join me and thousands of others for this sacred experience. I think of the New Year Fast as going away on a spiritual retreat with God as the leader. He has so much to show us – and it’s all good!
Let God meet your needs, whether they are financial or about your health. Perhaps you are struggling in a relationship. Or you want to learn more about prayer and how to hear from God.
Your loving Father has the answers. Your part is to turn to Him, ask, and believe.
What are your hopes for the New Year? Post below. Let us pray for you.
My husband has Stage 3 lung cancer and I am praying for healing and that his healing will bring salvation and spiritual growth as we give God all the glory. Please renew my mind and let me ask and have faith that has no doubt.
Your lessons and devotions are a gift from God to me as I search to draw nearer to God
Praise God, Kerri.
Christ is the Healer and our Savior. Put your trust in Him.
I join you in prayer and thank God for His work in your heart and your husband’s.
Be blessed on your fast.
Hello Ms Suzan,
As a married woman, would I abstain from lovemaking with my husband during the Daniel fast period?
Yours in Christ,
Sarah.
Hello Sarah.
No, abstaining from marital relations is now required. However, many couples find abstaining a powerful blessing for their relationship. Instead of physically expressing love, they become more demonstrative in other ways. So you may want to decide with your husband. The Scriptures teach us that the decision is to be agreed upon by both of you.
Be blessed on your fast.
Hello Ms. Gregory
I have tried your Daniel Fast before. I know it is not about the food, however, I am diabetic and made myself sick to the point I believed i was dying. That is how it felt. Any advice.,
Need protein and how to eat.
I do my best, but i be feeling condemn at times.
I just don’t know what I am doing wrong. The most i have gone was three weeks. However, miserable in body.
Hi Charlotte.
Fasting should never bring harm to your body. I encourage you to modify the fast so you can meet your body’s needs. Add eggs for breakfast. Have a hearty salad at lunch with beans and nuts added. Have fish for dinner with steamed vegetables and brown rice.
You can do this. But modify the fast to meet your specific health needs.
Be blessed on you fast. God is there to help you.
My hope is to get healthy. I have had 6 heart attacks and a double bypass. The meds packed on a ton of weight (from 162 to 214) and have crippled my metabolism. I had to retire because I could no longer work.
Praise the Lord that Jesus is our Healer.
Thanks for joining us on The Daniel Fast, Maria. Have you read my book, The Daniel Fast for Weight Loss? It’s not a diet book, but instead, you’ll gain a greater understanding of the stunning creation God made when He designed and fashioned you.
Be blessed, lovely woman of God.
Hi Suzan,
I just joined the Daniel fast. I want to know when I start and if there is a time to break, times to pray and verses of the Bible to pray with.
Thanks and God bless you.
Hello Eugene.
The Daniel Fast is a method of spiritual fasting. It’s used most often at the beginning of the year. However, it can be practiced at any time.
The fast is practiced 24 hours for consecutive days. The food is like a vegan eating plan with more restrictions, and the only beverage is water.
I encourage you to learn more about the fast before you start. You can pick up The Daniel Fast Book.
You can also find a lot of information on this site, and I highly recommend you watch this video message: The Daniel Fast.
Be blessed, and know that God treasures you and has so much to show you. You can discover much of that and experience His priceless blessings as you submit yourself to Him with extended prayer and fasting.
