God is working on me . . . again! Actually, I love it when He starts poking and prodding me to go higher with Him. To learn more about His nature. To gain greater understanding about kingdom living. To live more fully according to His Word.
The essence of what He’s calling me to see is that I often live far below His best for me. I settle for less. I consider myself undeserving. I operate far below the position I have as His child.
How about you? Are you living consistently in the blessings of God? Are you an example of the bright and powerful life you can have because of your relationship with Him? Or, do you also find yourself living small when He wants you to live large?
God’s promises are clear . . .
Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:24
And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. 1 John 3:22
I had to ask myself, “Susan, what is it about all and everything and whatever, that you don’t understand?”
I had to admit that according to the promises of God, I’m living below the means He has for me. I’m not tapping into the power and authority Christ issued to me and all believers. And I’m not being the best example of His love, grace, and adoption.
So, do we believe His Word? Do we consider it the truth? Or do we slough it off and instead live by our own reasoning or by the traditions of men?
The truth is, we have the key to His kingdom. We have all the help and assistance we need to live according to His promises. And we have the power of the living God inside of us, and we can rely on the Spirit to give us everything we need to be the fruitful examples we’re called to be.
How do we move from where we are now to where we can be? It’s by making the decision to believe, and then strengthening that “believer.” We do that by spending time studying and meditating on His Word. We change the way we think. We fast. We pray. We live by faith and not by sight. And bit by bit we are transformed into the bright light that shines in the darkness for all to see.
God has positioned each one of us to have influence with others. They see the light. The light of Christ living through us. They see it in the way we treat others. They see it in our blessed lives. They see it in our nature. And they see it by our love.
Yes, we have the key. Our part is to open that treasure of God’s incomparable word and live by His ways and by His truth.

I am looking to do the Daniel fast in the new year 2019. That is why I am reading through the articles on your website in preparation. My main focus of the fast will be to seek the Lord for a job or whatever He will have me do in the new year. This bloc ‘You have the keys to His kingdom’ has helped me to refocus the purpose of my job search from just earning a living to seeing God as my source and not the job. 11Cor 9:8 has refocused my attention to seeking God for a job or things to do so I can abound to every good work thereby achieving His purpose for me.
Oh, Sam! Your message is a clear sign that God’s Holy Spirit is ministering to you! Yes, bring the Lord into your career path. Let Him guide you and direct you. He already has the perfect job for you. Now your part is to trust Him and believe. He will reveal to you all He has for you. I am so happy for you! Be blessed in the New Year!
This is my first attempt at the Daniel fast. So far my struggle is mostly the lack of caffeine. Finding this blog helps me a lot.
Hello Susan,
My friend Lorena and I are doing Daniel’s Fast. Your book has brought us a lot of blessing throughout the process and it is amazing how you help us to approach the Lord, to learn from the Word and to know ourselves. In addition, the recipes you propose in the book are delicious. I do not stop reading and I feel very blessed. We thank you.
Greetings from Chile
