He is the God of New Beginnings
“Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19
God is so good! His mercies are now every morning. His forgiveness and grace is more than we can imagine and over and over again He offers us New Beginnings. Don’t let the power of the “fresh start” get away from you! This is a perfect opportunity to move into a brighter, healthier and more fulfilling future.
I saw Dennis Leonard, the Senior Pastor at Heritage Christian Center in Denver, Colorado on a talk show a while back. He pointed out the promise in Isaiah 43:18. As I read and meditated on this truth, I felt my spirit energy rise and take hold of the promise for the future I can walk into. I got excited and inspired.
But one thing I know, inspiration will not get me there . . . I have to choose to walk into the future the Lord wants to give me. God will do His part, but I must do mine! I must take hold of the promise, trust in the Lord, believe with all my heart, do everything He tells me to do, and then the supernatural power of God will take over. It’s happened for me before – and it will happen again. God is faithful and He loves for me to rely only on Him and His Word.
If you’ve read about my story on The Daniel Fast book, you know that 2007 was a very tough year for me. I suffered a financial crisis that on the world’s standards just about took me out. But God is faithful and our sure strength in time of trouble. He says, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.”
I learned how important letting the past be the past is to gaining victory. To put it in more stark terms, we need to GET OVER IT! “It” is the past that can hold us down. And “over” is our future and our New Beginnings.
God is all for New Beginnings. He says in the same passage, “Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?” We can either stay focused and locked in the past hurt and pressure, or we can turn around, walk away from that dark mountain and keep walking toward the bright future the Lord is making victory and a future with a hope.
Don’t let that get by . . . it is the Lord Who will do a new thing! If we receive it!
Do you want the coming months to be those of New Beginnings for you? Or is your life totally in order with no pain, no unmet needs and like heaven this side of glory? If your life is like that — praise God! But if not, take this opportunity to take hold of all the Lord has for you!
Walk into your New Beginnings. The choice is yours! But we have to operate differently than we have in our past . . . that is if we want different results. For me, it’s trusting in God more, surrounding myself in His Word, and walking into the new opportunities He’s set before me.
What about you? Have you taken the time to really consider how you want your life to change? Have you asked the Lord for a New Beginning and then told Him what that means for you? He wants to hear from you. Remember the words of Jesus, “Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24

Be blessed!
In my life time i never proposed anyone.i was hurt when someone rejected me just because i was jobless at that time, he promised to marry me , i didn’t even realised that i have fallen in love with him, within a time span.
i was heart broken and shattered, unable to believe that this happened to me, From that day i started praying at feet with broken heart, in believe that Jesus will hear my tearfull prayer and answers me, i did 40 days half night prayers and 40 days fasting prayers for my future Husband as i want God will to be done, on last day of 40 days fast, God spoke to me with this verse
isaiah 43 19 Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. It’s been a year still am unable to forget him, and nothing change in my life, sometimes i really wonder, Is God listening to my prayers?, and when will he remove these dark clouds and fill my heart with happiness? for his Glory
No one can comfort me expect Almighty. Just waiting for his miracles.
Praise God for His great love for all who submit their lives to Him. You truly received one of the many blessings from extended prayer and fasting.
Be blessed, dear one! Thank you for sharing your victory story with us!
I have been dealing with situations in my life, and nothing has gotten better. But of course if I move me out of the way then God can do good work in me. I try very hard to treat people the way that I want to be treated but sometimes I do get hurt. I know that there are seasons in your life but what do I do when I going through the season? What do I do when I’m faced with difficulties in life. I really hope this helps me to get stronger, to get wisdom and understanding. For the Lord is my shepherd I shall not want. Help me Lord.
Hi Cheryl,
I have been in similar situations. Challenging and hurtful, especially when the hurt comes from those who “should” love and respect you.
My advice is first, draw near to God and pray for those who are hurting you. Ask God’s Holy Spirit to work on their hearts so that they come closer to Him and walk in His ways. I know this can be hard, but love anyway. I have a couple little practices I have used to help me in the situations: 1) I impersonate a duck! LOL! Meaning, I let things roll off my back like water off a duck’s back.
The second thing I do is pretend in my mind that I am a matador. When the bull charges the matador he spreads out his cape and lets the bull hit it and go on buy. No harm, just passing by.
All of this staying close to the Lord and praying for those in my life. I’m not saying it’s easy. Also, intentionally do some things that give you joy and comfort. Visit with a friend. Watch happy movies. Make Christmas gifts. Whatever bring joy into your life. Plan to do something every day that will make you happy. Buy yourself a flower! Let it represent goodness to you.
I hope this helps. I am praying for you, dear one. Be blessed!
Dear Susan,
Thank you very much for your encouraging words and for reminding us that we ought to love and pray for our perpertrators no matter how difficult or painful it may seem. Our Heavenly Father forgave each and everyone of us by dying on the cross (isn’t that reason enough for us to forgive others?)
Thank you once again, that we have that opportunity for a second chance to make amends.
In His Service!
Thank you Jesus. this is a confirmation ,God can never reward us in the past .He can only do so in the future. The past is past but this is NOW. I was going through a lots of tribulation but I told my father that you said in your Words that you will never ever leave me nor forsake me. I know you are a faithful God Thank you my sister for the revelation. I know God has release my blessing now. though I haven’t receive nor seen it I could feel it and I have received it already and I am celebrating now. Glory to God. His mercies endures forever and He is taking me from glory to glory. and I am not concentrating on things that use to bother me I am concentrating on the now. may God richly bless you.
Thank you! This is exactly what i needed to hear now. I need a fresh new start before l can lose my mind continualy thinking of past mistakes. What could have been and what ifs!!!
Thank you, Susan. This article came at just the right moment for me. I’m printing it out and keeping in the front of my Bible so I can read it as often as I need.
