Doesn’t soya sauce contain sugar and chemicals?

      Hi Lovey,

You can find soy sauce that is free of sugar and chemicals. I purchase a Kroger brand that is great. Also, you might want to use tamari sauce or Bragg’s Amino Acid.

      Be blessed on your fast!

what would be the serving size or portion you would be allowed to eat and cut off time?

    • By admin 08 Aug 2013

The guidelines from the scriptures don’t specify the amount of food you can eat. However, we want to recognize that we are fasting, plus we are called to wisdom and moderation about food throughout the Bible.

Also, the Daniel Fast is usually practiced for 21 consecutive days and is for 24 four hours. Some fasts are from sunrise to sundown, but the Daniel Fast is around the clock.

      I hope this helps.

I listened to part of your show today with Janet Paschal and found it to very informative. Several friends from my church did the Daniel fast a while back and thought it was wonderful. I am thinking about possibly doing with one of my sisters or daughter. I thought by doing it together perhaps it would help us all to be accountable for each of the things we do. Since my husband’s passing 5 years ago, my daughters passes away 3 years ago and my sisters passed away a little over a year so, I thought it would be something we could all do together and get closer to the Holy Spirit (which is something I have always longed to do. I’m going to purchase the book for us. I believe we all need this very much. Thank you so much for the interested things you discussed on the show today. God bless all of and bless you fot writing this book that will help us. I pray for a completely successful. Fast and that the Holy Spirit. Shows all of us things that we all need to know to make our walk more meaningful and full of love. Holy Spirit, I pray that as me and proceed on this Daniel fast that. We will stay focused and dedicated to one special outcome and that is know you more closely and to be able to study God’s owed more closely, understand and in love send it out to bless others.

I noticed the recipes with rice call for brown rice. Does it go against the fast to have white rice?

    • By admin 01 Dec 2013

Only whole grains are allowed on the Daniel Fast. So use brown rice instead of white rice.

Blessings, I am very new to fasting. I would like to ask a question, on the list it approves whole wheat would that include 100 percent whole wheat bread?

    • By admin 13 Aug 2014

No leavened products on the Daniel Fast. So raised breads are out. You can eat flat breads, however. Many people make their own chapatti during the fast.

      Be blessed!
