Hwange, Zimbabwe -
In April, I was part of a nine-member mission team that taught at a Pastor's Leadership Training Conference and at a Youth Conference in Zimbabwe. More than 100 members or our Daniel Fast Community supported this powerful effort with their prayer and financial gifts. Words can't express how meaningful your contributions were to the men, women and children you helped . . . and to me. Thank you so much, and I pray that God will richly reward you as you continue to support His work.

God was so powerful during our ministry. I will try to share some using photos, but as you can imagine they only touch on the full story.

Pastor Thela:
The first photograph was at one of the evening services at the Pastor's Leadership Training Conference. Pastor Abbie Thela (right, seen here with the interpreter) from South Africa joined our teaching team. He is a powerful man of God and I was blessed to get to know this man and his family.

Little Girls:
During one of the teaching sessions, I loaned my Bible to these two young girls. They were so eager to look up all the Scriptures. The children were so focused on God. During worship time, they praised our Lord with sincerity and passion. They are so hungry for God and His truth.

Breakout Sessions:
David Saltzman is my pastor at Ellensburg Foursquare Church. I am so blessed to have a leader who loves the Word of God. Here, under the shade of the trees, he teaches other pastors about leadership skills.

Meanwhile, the pastors' wives and women church leaders were being trained in the church. I taught sessions on developing our faith and walking in the spirit.

Cooking Meals
: Your gifts helped provide food for the pastors and their families. Zimbabwe suffers from staggering inflation and a 94% unemployment rate. The pastors were all so blessed with the meals we provided. Here the women cook a beef and vegetable stew that is served over sadza, which is a stiff maize meal similar to grits with a consistency of mashed potatoes. This outdoor kitchen is on the far side of the church grounds.

Beautiful Children:
Another missionary named Luann Womble from California took this photo and I just loved it! The children are so beautiful and full of life, in spite of the tough conditions in Zimbabwe. Hope is alive! Amen!

Thank You!
Look into the eyes of this little one. His expression says it all! Thank you!

Everyone was so thankful that our team had come to train their pastors and church leaders. I fell in love with my Christian brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe. Their faith is a strong example of the power of our God. When the world systems crumbles, we are members of a Kingdom that is reliable, prosperous and everlasting.

On behalf of the pastors, their families and their congregations, "Thank you and God bless you for your kindness."

Next . . . The Youth Conference!

Pastor Simon Mukolo, Elder Herbert Makwala and Ron Jackson with some of the teens at the Youth Conference. Pastor Mukolo has founded more than 400 churches in the Hwange redion of Zimbabwe. Herbert Makwala is an elder at the central church and since there are no hotels or restaurants suitable for us, he opened his home ot our team. Ron Jackson led our team. He and his wife Melissa ministered in South Africa for 14 years.
Margaret and Herbert Makwala are a wonderful couple who opened their home to our team. Their children gave up their bedrooms and women from the church volunteers so we had wonderful meals and a comfortable place to sleep.

Thank you to our Christian brothers and sisters in Zimbabwe for your love, hospitality and care.
